Generic Visual Perception Processor GVPP

Generic Visual Perceptions Processor is a inexpensive System on a Chip that mimics the neural processing of visual data. It is owned and developed by Bureau d'Etudes Vision, a French research company.

Generic visual perception processor - SlideShare

The 'generic visual perception processor (GVPP)' has been developed after 10 long years of scientific effort . Generic Visual Perception Processor (GVPP) can automatically detect objects and track their movement in real-time . The GVPP, which crunches 20 billion instructions per second (BIPS), models the human perceptual process at the hardware level by mimicking the separate temporal and spatial functions of the eye-to-brain system. The processor sees its environment as a stream of histograms regarding the location and velocity of objects.

I have to give seminar on Generic Visual perception processor and I am unable to find good material on Generic Visual perception processor.I have searched a lot but I want some good notes or presentations on this topic as I have to give seminar on this subject ...so I really want some good material. The technology embodied in this portfolio was the result of development of a Generic Visual Perception Processor (GVPP), a system designed to detect the presence of objects in a motion video signal, then locate and track those objects as they move in real time. The technology was developed by Patrick Pirim of Bureau d’Etudes Vision (BEV), a French technology research company beginning in 1986.

This paper deals with the biomimetic design of a humanoid head prototype. This prototype is developed in order to offer some mechanical device for multimodality objectives, and to demonstrate the importance of uncoupled eyes mechanism in humanoid head function. Indeed, the prototype development is based on our understanding of the humans head properties in the filed of visual and vestibular capabilities. The final prototype will have 3 DOF for each eye and 2 DOF for the neck. The developed device based as on one dof for each eye and one dof for the neck is able to show the vestibular ocular reflex (VOR) and the target tracking (TT) in real time. To carry out all these capabilities, a generic visual perception processor is developed and used. The first experiments on 3 DOF mechanism are given
